If you are stressed, overweight, constantly low on energy, mostly eat out or drink alcohol or coffee on a daily basis, you need to detoxify your body 3-4 times in a year.

There are a host of detox diets available over the internet but I am giving the ultimate drink to cleanse your body each morning for a healthy start and to stay away from infections.

Lemon, Ginger, Honey, Basil & Turmeric Drink

Lemon is a natural anti-oxidant and rich source of vitamin C and potassium, lemon fights cold and flu, balances your body’s pH level, protects cell damage, improves digestion, prevents kidney stones, improves absorption of iron, helps treating odor and bleeding gums and aids in weight loss

Ginger is anti-inflammatory and helps in relieving pain, soothes nausea, fights fungal infections, removes cold and flu, improves diabetes, fights cancer and fights stomach infections.

Honey or nature’s sweet nectar is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, treats cold & cough, reduces the risk of cancer, balances cholesterol and cures insomnia.

Basil is yet another anti-inflammatory plant that treats a range of body disorders, lowers risk of heart diseases, prevents formation of skin acne, reduces anxiety, reduces bad cholesterol and improves liver function.

Turmeric is known as the best natural anti-bacterial to fight infections and an effective anti-inflammatory agent that kills free radicals in the body. It also assists in slowing down Alzheimer’s disease by repairing brain cells and helps remove toxins from the liver. A pinch of turmeric when taken with milk on a daily basis can help reduce muscle pain and speed up recovery in case of injuries.


1 tsp Fresh Ginger Syrup (Freshly Squeezed)

1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tsp Organic Honey

1 tsp Lemon Juice (Freshly Squeezed)

3-4 Fresh Small Basil Leaves

1 Large Mug of Water (330-350 ml)


Step 1 – Take the water and bring it to a boil.

Step 2 – Simmer and add all the ingredients. After 2 minutes, turn off the stove, let it cool until lukewarm and consume immediately.
