When speaking of Middle-Eastern food in Dubai, Shawarma instantly comes to the mind. Tender chicken with a bit of crisp at the edges combined with tahini, veggies and pickles makes the mouth water and kudos to you if one is enough to satisfy your soul.
But with so many restaurants and cafeterias selling their own versions, who all have actually nailed it? Presenting a list of top 5 places in Dubai to get a shawarma:
They’ve been around for more than 30 years in the country and out of all the places I’ve tried over the years, their shawarma is by far the best I’ve tasted.
Cost: AED 9/-
Locations: Al Diyafa, Al Twar, Al Wahda, Al Mamzar
Second on my list, I’ve been to Safadi on several occasions and their Sheikh Zayed Road branch is my favorite with a beautiful outdoor setting. Their shawarmas are super fresh and tasty but I find their sandwiches smaller in size.
Cost: AED 12
Locations: Rigga Road, Sheikh Zayed Road, Umm Al Sheif, The Pointe
This used to be my late night go-to place to pick up food during my college days. Although it’s not my preferred place to dine-in, their shawarma among other things in the menu is very good.
Cost: Varies with Options
Locations: Muraqqabat Road, Deira
Website: Not Available
Bringing the Levant street food magic to Dubai, Zaroob is one of the famous places for shawarma in Dubai and quite busy on the weekends. I love the restaurant’s ambiance. However, I found their sandwich dry and comparatively expensive.
